The Dufour 32 Classic was first launched in 1998 and stayed in production until 2004. The Dufour Classic 32 quickly gained a reputation as a comfortable cruising yacht. It has a standard 2 cabin layout, with forepeak and stern accommodation, plus two berths in the main cabin. There are two keel configurations, a shallow keel, drawing 1.25 m (4 ft 1in) and a deep keel drawing 1.7m (5ft 6in). Both have a bulb at the foot to keep the weight at the bottom of the keel.
Accommodation. Internally it has a very spacious layout. The main cabin has a L-shaped galley to port at at the foot of the companionway. This comprises a two burner ENO cooker with oven, a 65 lt refrigerator (with a small freeze compartment) and a large square stainless steel sink with hot and cold water from a mixer tap. The sink has a cover to provide an extensive work- surface. To starboard is a forward facing chart table, with seat. The chart table has storage below, with a panel outboard for radio and electrical switches. GPS / radar can be mounted to the rear of the chart table.
The bottom two steps of the companionway lift out to gain access to the front of the engine. A door to port leads in to a spacious rear cabin. There are two cupboards to port, one with hanging space and the other shelves, plus a large shelf running along the port side. There are two port lights, one on the coach-roof side and the other which opens into the cockpit. The berth is approx 195 x 160 cm, with good height outboard, but with about .75m below the cockpit sole, with an engine access panel. There is ample standing / dressing space with the door closed. There are two lights ,one in the deckhead and the other a reading light on the cupboard end.
A door to starboard behind the chart table leads into a heads / shower compartment. There is a large mirror on the inside of the door. The hand basin has a mixer tap leaver, with the shower head attached to a 1.5 metre hose. The shower, fed from the pumped water supply, is manually drained using a Henderson pump. The sea-cocks for the hand basin outlet and toilet inlet and outlets are in the locker below the sink. An opening port-light is above two outboard cupboards and shelving.
