South Coast Events 2012

We will be organising a cruise in company to Cherbourg to enable people to attend the "Fete du Nautism" being organised by the CVD (French Dufour Club) from Tuesday 15 May to Thursday 17 May. (see Cherbourg). It is proposed that we depart early on the Sunday from the western Solent (Yarmouth) and cross in daylight to arrive in the evening.  The return can be made on Friday or Saturday of the next weekend.
If you have not crossed the Channel before this will be a good introduction, with the crossing taking about 12 hours if the average speed is 5 knots.  Full radio contact can be maintained between boats which inspire confidence.

The Round the Island Race is being held on Saturday 30th June 2012. 

The Association awards the "Dufour Association - Round the Island Trophy" (RTI Cup) to the Dufour Association member achieving the highest overall place on their own yacht, based on the final results published on the "www.roundtheisland.org.uk" web site following the race.  The RTI Cup is held for a period of one year, with a commemorative plaque retained by the winner.
