Dufour Owners Association: new forum reply to Crack in Bulkhead

New reply from Gordon Dyer

Hi

There are quite a few boat builders in Preveza Greece, I have been reasonably impressed with Ionian Marine, after some poor work was undertaken at Cleopatras. I suggest you monitor the crack to ensure it is not growing. If not, there is no point worrying about it until you haul out next, as any boat boat-builder will want to check the external hull in the area around the crack for damage/ delamination and also have a look at the grid liner.

I am heading up the Montenegro in July to collect and fit a new in-boom furler, if you know of any riggers up there, please let me know.

Cheers

Gordon

Crack in Bulkhead

We have a 2008 Dufour GL 525.We have discovered a crack in the woodwork wall near the base of our forward cabin door below the floorboards. We have had someone take a cursory look at it and it could be cosmetic or structural but is beyond their tools to investigate further. Has anyone experienced something similar? Dufour have not responded – does anyone have any responsive contacts or know a good surveyor and boatyard in Croatia, Greece or Italy? We are currently in Montenegro-Croatia.
