I started messing about in boats when my Dad bought a Gul dinghy that we used to drag over the shallows at Mudeford on the UK south coast. In my late teens I raced a Fireball with my brother from Chichester Yacht Club. Work took me to The Bahamas, where my wife Penny and I cruised extensively in several sailing yachts from 34 to 44 feet. Early retirement brought us to Cyprus in 2012 where I climbed back into a dinghy again, regularly racing a Wayfarer.
I’m a past Commodore of the Nassau Yacht Club and the Paphos International Sailing Club. I’ve chaired numerous international regattas to world championship level. I’m a club Race Officer, and a Senior Sailing Instructor and National Judge of the Cyprus Sailing Federation.
Our Dufour 405GL, purchased in 2016, is moored in the Aegean where we cruise for three months of the year, with the occasional fun race thrown in.
