I own and old (1979) Dufour 31.  Some years ago my sail maker made me an arch to support a 100w and a 40w solar panel.
The arch has given good service over several years.  The reason I had it made was because I did not have the equipment or skills to bend SS tube.  It was mounted on the existing pushpit. I attach pictures. You will see there is a block and tackle which I use for lifting engines and other heavy load
There is a danger of being led into over engineering the solution.  Over heavy construction will not produce an attractive structure and will increase the costs.
