    Hello,
    Our boat is a Classic 35, so similar in size to yours. We have 60m of 8mm chain. This was made up by adding 15m of calibrated chain to the existing 45m original.  I used a Crosby C-link (as described by Vyv Cox here: http://coxeng.co.uk/anchoring/c-links/) which was easy to assemble.  This works very well for our set up (West Country cruising).
    Admittedly, we have never had to anchor in a hurricane… but all things considered, I am happy with the solution. The link goes easily over the gypsy, and there is no sign of corrosion on it.
