hi john – I’ve had boats over the years before this dufour. dehler, beneteau, ufo, RM – in each case masthead stuff has had to be dealt with (renewed fixed etc) problems. neve been on a wire run, either in mast or in boat. always always either instrument aerial or junction. I just go by the doctrine of leave it if it works. maybe naive but I’m 85 and still alive (just!). dave
