yes john good point! I had big trouble with aurilla which we bought having just sold out lovely RM in france (BREXIT & covid reasons) couldn’t be without a boat and she was the only one around at the time – so… all masthead gear replaced, engine replaced, rudder bearings and all through hill fittings. 4 new batteries, complete new plotter, 3 x i70, VHF, sail cover, spray hood, wheel cover, anchor & chain – whew! whoever gets her eventually will have a spot on boat with upgraded mainsheet track etc etc (she had a harken roller & a new dolphin main. the previous owner kept the boat very clean but didn’t look after mechanics and electrics (oh, forgot new shore power, alternator & victron charger). she’s a great boat now – twin rudders & lift keel, very rare….. launching 24th then new main halyard but a bit I’m a bit far gone now to be crossing the channel on anything other than a ferry with a campervan….!
