I feel for you. I have a D34 and it is also tricky to manoeuvre – and it’s a lot smaller than yours!
This will not solve your bow thruster conundrum but I was told that the issue with the 34 is that it is very light forward and it just doesn’t have enough grip in the water to prevent the front from being blown around. I was advised always to have the forward water tank full which does help a lot. Some owners have a lot of anchor chain as well to add to the weight up front.
You’re probably ahead of me on this. But it certainly helped me.
