Hello Peter
I had a 301 and soon found out that single line slab reefing was a pain especially shaking the reefs out so the reefing arrangement was redone by fitting a double rams horn on the top of the gooseneck which when lowered the tack reef cringles could be hooked on to the relevant side rams horn then a single line went to the clew cringles which then could be quickly and smoothly hauled in. Although it meant going to the mast foot to reef it worked much smoother, quicker and easier to reef and shake out (single handed by the way). It could work well for your third reef, (and indeed all three reefs) plus, you will need half the length of reefing line. Good luck.
