I had the same issue on my 41 Classic. I removed the pulpit, gave it to the local stainless welding company and asked them to weld a larger thread stud on both sides plus a larger diameter plate on the end of the tube so that it had a better surface area to bed down to the deck. I cannot remember if it was from 8mm to 10mm stud or 10mm to 12mm stud, but it certainly is strong enough now. One of the studs will be hollow to allow the nav light wiring to pass through.
