My boat was previously owned by a sailing school, and when she was used for courses the instructors religiously enforced a rule ; “Engine on, fridge on, engine off, fridge off”. When I bought her and started to familiarise myself with her technical aspects, imagine my surprise when I discovered that she only had a coolbox and that no refrigeration plant was fitted. As no ice was purchased when victualling for the courses it was no wonder the contents of the”fridge” used to become decidedly smelly by midweek! 🙂
