Our 52 came with 50m of 10mm. I changed it to 80m of 12mm, which created piling up problems and windlass jams. The solution is to lift the last 30m of chain from the floor of the locker, looped on a line hanging from the base of the forestay (see photo).
The solution works well, and the last 30m go out very smoothly when needed, but every time I use them, I have to get in the locker and manually lift them back on the line (one of the least enjoyable tasks)
