Is that where you would attach the Storm Jib to?
I have a spare Spinnaker Halyard and pole down haul which I attach to the D Hooks either side of the hatch at night but during the day when sailing they are attached to a loop of rope at either set of shrouds. They get moved each time we more and head off. If I hkeep them at the shrouds they rattle at night and keep me awake 🙂
