Thank you for sharing your woes and am glad that you’re up and running again, at least anchor-wise.
John, there’s absolutely nothing wrong with being ‘ nerdy ‘ especially when it comes with knowledge and authority being an engineer.
It all sounds logical but will need to study it with circuit diagram in hand for me to understand how to problem solve this one. It’s bound to happen sooner or later so very useful indeed.
There’s a huge variety of DVMs and for us, not in the know-how, it can be a bit daunting. What sort of models do you recommend which do the job they’re supposed to do without costing an arm and a leg or too complicated to use for those with basic knowledge of electricity? Also could DVMs be used to check circuit integrity or is it a case of a having to acquire a different contraption?
