I have the 28 Mezzo, which I’m guessing is fairly similar to the 2800. I had the Volvo 2001 and recently replaced it with a Beta 14. It seems a great engine so far.
There were a few issues fitting it in as it sits a little lower, so I had to both raise and narrow the mounting beds – I used strips of steel with angle iron welded on to make brackets to do that. I needed an exhaust adaptor as the hoses were slightly different diameters, and I had to install a larger bore seacock, strainer and hoses etc for the raw water cooling. I had to get a new prop too as the Volvo rotation was the opposite direction.
