Memory foam to sleep on is a personal thing. Some people cannot sleep on anything else, some people don’t understand what the fuss is about. However, memory foam has one great advantage: you can cut it with scissors. I bought a memory foam mattress from Ikea, removed it from its cover, and cut it using the existing mattress as template. I then asked a tailor to cut and sew the cover. Works very well. Just make sure it’s 100% memory foam, not a foam layer on top of something else that cannot be cut.
