Hi Andrew
Thansk for the support and reply – I will have to take the panel out – it’s a three cabin boat so a bit more difficult than usual.
FYI there is only one meter, the three switches are for Bat main and Engine; Deisel tank 1: Water tanks 1 and 2. They are centre biased. Both the tank switches and meter work as usual, the light comes on and a reading is present which is believable i.e. level seems right.
When the battery switch is toggled the backlight comes on but non reading at all, which implies that the switch is OK, and there is power to the light. so I am thinking that there is a small current drive circuit to the meter from there which has failed.
Like we agree the documentation is appalling IMHO, and Dufour seem to be not very helpful. VDO seems not to exist either with nothing on the web.
I am thinking as a winter project to design a new panel with something like the simarine display and monitoring panel….. but that’s for another day!
Thanks for your comments and help
Mike
