My understanding is that Insurance companies no longer tend to dictate rigging renewal, instead they require that the boat is kept in good repair. So if you have a rig failure and it can be pinned down to a fault or wear they can decline a claim because it wasn’t kept in good order…………
In 2020 the base rigging cost was only 1300. On our 34 performance. But after craneage and sheaves and cable check it was nearer 2200. And then we had a new fore stay wire inside the reefing new led lights , aerial etc and some new running rigging.
Our rig was 15 years old at replacement.
