Philip
I have a 2005 D34P which we have had since 2012. I had the standing rigging replaced in 2022 (I think), so 17 years old, boat has sailed about 15000 NM. My insurance company did not ask for this. We do not race, the boat has never raced, but I understand that crevice corrosion is more the enemy as opposed to over stressing. My main reasons for replacement were peace of mind for us and the ability to prove to the insurance company that it had been maintained. I do previously recall recommended periods for replacement for racing and cruising but cannot recall at the moment. I initially just asked my rigger for a survey which he did, and all was fine, so I probably did not need to renew but did anyway. I think the cost was about £2200 for all standing rigging and new bottle screws, we did not renew the removable inner forestay since we rarely use it. Craneage was provided by the marina at a small extra cost.
I hope that this helps.
Kind regards
Angus
