Is the rigger suggesting full standing rigging replacement because it is showing signs of ageing or because it will add little to the cost of the work he must do? I will put aside the idea he might just be taking advantage.
Our insurer said they wanted the rig checked at 10 years which we had done. The report said various parts should be replaced and it included photos of the particular faults but it was not a full rigging replacement.
