Have you tried knocking the area with a nylon hammer. Any changes in the sound might identify an area where water can be getting in to the core.
Tiny hairline cracks might not be visible Around deck skin fittings, laid up on a mooring under no load.
Although on structural areas the sound will naturally be slightly different.
Worth considering!
