Hi. Your problems with the Facnor furler resonated with me! Not the same I know, I have a Dufour 34 Performance, but had similar problemns with my above deck Facnor furler – tried various ways of furling, replaced both drum and swivel, and had 4 different riggers looking at it. Each time I convinced myself there was an improvement but it never lasted, and was soon impossibly stiff again. In the end I bit the bullet and replaced it with a Harken furler – no further problems. All the money I paid trying to solve the Facnor furler problem would have bought me the Harken furler much earlier!! I know some people have no problems with their Facnor furler and the company wouldn’t remain in business if there was a major problem with them, but I regret persisting for so long with mine and would never touch a Facnor again. Sorry, that might not be very helpful for you!
