I have the exact same boat 2011 40E performance in Australia. A similar problem with the under deck furler. It has been examined by a number of riggers who are unable to fix the problem and suggest replacing it. By the way I recently posted a serious problem with corrosion of the rudder stock. It would be worth checking when you next slip your boat.
