Reply To: 40E Under Deck Furler Problem

I acquired a Dufour classic 36 a few years ago which was equipped with a Facnor furling system. I too struggled with the extreme resistance with the furling operation and installed an upper swivel at a significant cost which unfortunately, provide absolutely no relief to the problem. In fact the swivel was suspect upon arrival due to its inherent resistance when new. My follow-on experience with the vendor and Facnor has been absolutely miserable as the products that the company produces is absolute junk! I highly recommend that you cut your losses and replace the system. Ultimately, I had a rigor replace the entire furling system with a new Furlex 200 Which has provided absolutely flawless performance since installation in 2020.
