If you put the plotter in or by the steering console only the helmsman can see it. We have our 9 inch plotter under the spray hood above the companion way where everyone including the helmsman can see it. It is mounted in the U bracket and unplugged in harbor. Easy to install and thief-proof! Run the cables through the deck and behind the ceiling down to the switch panel by the chart table.
