I have a similiar problem with the front water tank level gauge in my 2009 45E. It sounds similar. It works intermittently as William describes. Irritating and difficult to address.
I have been wondering if I should replace the gauge with the new Gobius top mounted RF sensor, quite expensive, but little wiring.
