    Good afternoon Trond,

My unequivocal answer would be ‘Yes’ on both counts. My wife and I have owned a 32 Classic (OK slightly bigger) for the last 11 years. during which time we have sailed from our home port (Portsmouth) not only around the local coast but also across the channel to the Channel Isles and the coast of Brittany, several times. We have also sailed down to the West Country (Devon and Cornwall), typically coastal hopping over a number of days.
At no time have we been concerned that the yacht was not up to the task.
The Classics are well built robust cruisers (IMHO, better than subsequent Dufour designs. In your place, I would have no hesitation buying your Norwegian 30 Classic. Alternatively, our much loved 32 Classic is available since we are having to retire from sailing due to age and health issues. See https://www.boatshed.com/dufour_32_classic-boat-316243.html.
    Good luck
